The number of older people is growing, with many retaining their own teeth into old age. This brings new issues in terms of providing care for these individuals. The interactive session will cover the impact of poor oral health on all age groups and how to put plans in place for providing mouth care to maintain an individual’s oral health. This will include tips for looking after your own mouth and information to pass on to your friends and family. There will be opportunities to ask questions and useful resources.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the workshop participants should be able to:

  • Identify techniques for mouth care that they can use at home or to support others
  • Access resources to support the development of care environments that promote oral health
